I’ve had lots of positive feed back My manager said she could have followed you around all afternoon, but she didn’t want to come across as creepy.
The following is taken from my old blog. There are thousands of articles on there which over the next few months I will attempt to move over here. In the mean time here’s a description of a couple of performances in Winchester which may give an idea of what it is I could do at your event.
Dinner Show Magician Winchester
It’s probably fair to say that my dinner show is my favourite act to perform. This particular performance is a version of my stage show designed to be performed in smaller venues, i.e private dining rooms in restaurants and private homes. On Thursday I performed this show at The Ivy in Winchester high street. The reason I like to perform this show is that it is quite an informal, relaxed show and whilst I am performing some of my favourite routines from my stage show I still get the opportunity to chat with the audience and can change the show at any minute depending upon what I think will work best with that particular audience. The show I performed on Thursday was for 16 people in the private dining room at The Ivy. The show itself lasted about an hour but I performed it in 3 acts between the courses of the meal, each act lasting about 20 minutes. This allows for a very relaxed environment and gives the audience members a chance to chat and eat in between courses. One of my favourite things about this show is that I can make come of the audience members the centre of attention, if they so wish. In this case I ended with a routine I love to perform that is all about the empathy of various people. I performed it with the birthday girl and her partner. It was met with a standing ovation which is always a great compliment. Most importantly though people continues to talk about it after and how it demonstrated the love between the couple, always nice to end a show on such a positive note, leaving people feeling so good about themselves. Wedding Magician Winchester
On Sunday afternoon I was hired to perform close up magic and mind reading at a wedding in Sparsholt, Winchester. The wedding had taken place the day before, this event was a dinner for 200 family and friends the day after, taking place in the beautiful family home. The dinner was a casual buffet style dinner.
Events of this nature are a favourite of mine to perform close up magic at as they allow for a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone is up for a good time. I performed for 2 hours and throughout this time I mixed and mingled with the guests, whether seated at tables or standing in small groups and performed a 5 to 10 minute routine for each group. A typical routine would start with involving everyone at a table, typically I will use psychological suggestion to lead everyone to think of the same thing, maybe a playing card or a number between 1 and 100. After this I will move on to the mind reading, I might ask someone to think of a name of an old friend, I will then describe the friend and tell them the name. The picture to the right shows me performing my favourite “empathy” routine. This is an absolute favourite of mine, very hard to describe but if you ever see me perform do ask to see it as it’s something quite special.
