I have been to many shows of this nature, but you have to be by far the ‘Most entertaining and skilled performer’, and that was the whole teams opinion. BLOG ARCHIVE – The following is taken from my old blog, I have literally thousands of entries there which over the next few months I will attempt to copy over. In the mean time I hope this will give an idea of some of the events I perform at each year as a Southampton magician.

Corporate magician Southampton

On Sunday night I was booked to perform at the Hilton, Ageas Bowl, Southampton to perform at an annual end of year event for the staff of the Mayflower theatre. They required a close up magician to perform as the guests arrived during the drinks reception and a table magician to entertain everyone throughout the meal. The event was a masquarade ball and many people came in fancy dress and masks (I was asked to judge the masks for a competion). Throughout the drinks reception I kept things simple, performing for small groups as they stood around drinking, giving each group a 5 minute performance. I very much used this time as a warm up to get an idea who would be easiest to read for some more in depth mind reading later. A common question was “do the masks make your life harder”? The simple answer is yes, as long as I could see the eyes it wasn’t a problem but when they were covered I had to ask people to remove the masks. Throughout the meal I continued to perform close up at the tables, performing between the courses of a 3 course meal. I had a little more time here and gave each table a 10 minute show. It helped that I had met some of the guests already so I knew who I could work with the best. Throughout the evening I performed a wide variety of routines, typical example would be to open with a prediction of how I expect people to behave. I would write something down and place unseen on the table, I then ask people to name a simple piece of information such as the name of a playing card, the card named would be the same as the one I wrote down at the beginning. With this demonstration of influence out of the way I would move onto more serious mind reading. I might get someone to draw a picture or think of an old friend no one but them would know. I would then attempt to draw the same picture or describe and name their friend. Very pleased to say I had an almost 100% success rate.
