Edward’s style of magic is a lot more than card tricks. He performs a genre of magic known as mentalism, best described as magic of the mind, or even Jedi mind tricks! We had Edward perform at a private function last night for friends and family, I must say, just wow. I have had a chance to see mind reading and magic tricks in various bars and parties i have been to over the years and it is often hit and miss. With Edward however this was not the case and he managed to pull off and perform every trick, illusion and mind blowing performance with awe inspiring results and a coif, sophisticated and professional style. Close Up Magician Hertfordshire

On Saturday night I was booked to perform close up magic in St Albans, Hertfordshire for an 18th birthday party for about 100 people.

The event was a drinks party with a buffet and a disco. I performed for about 2 hours between 8 to 10pm (before the disco got too loud). It was quite a casual event with people drinking and eating in small groups so I mixed and mingled with each group performing a 10 minute routine for each. Some groups were at tables others standing. Throughout the evening I performed a couple of special routines for the birthday girl and her close friends and family.

I had an email from them this morning, here’s what they had to say:

Christmas Party Magician Hertfordshire

The Christmas season comes around again and as ever I am flat out. Between late November through to January I will be performing 2 or 3 shows a day almost seven days a week. This is without a doubt my busiest time of the year so if you’re after a magician in Hertfordshire for your Christmas party, whether a work event or private party, please remember to book early. The most popular shows at Christmas parties are my close up act at informal drinks parties and my dinner show for more formal sit down dinners.

On Friday night I was hired by UIA Insurance to perform at their Christmas party at Knebworth Park, Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The event was for 100 guests and was a sit down meal. I was hired to perform close up magic around the tables as people ate. Originally I had been asked to perform later in the evening but as they were having a disco I advised the client that it would be a bit noisy by this point and there was every chance as it was Christmas that people may have had a few drinks too many so we agreed on an earlier performance. I performed at each table throughout the evening, giving each group a 10 minute performance of close up magic and mind reading. Whenever I work at dinners I always ensure not to perform whilst people are eating so split my act into three parts between courses. I performed up until the disco started and as people were asking me to see something else I did a few more routines in the bar area outside. When I work at events of this nature I always make sure that each table see’s something unique whether it was mind reading, making predictions or bending metal with my mind. The main request after was to see more metal bending so I borrowed coins off people and bent them in their hands as they watched!

Close Up Magic Hertfordshire

Saturday evening found me performing close up, table magic at an event in Hertfordshire. This was a super long day after an afternoon show in Portsmouth and endless driving around the hell that is the M25! The event was at The Moor Park Golf Club in Rickmansworth. This was my second performance at this venue in the last few months, the first was for their annual golf members event, that event led to me being booked for this one. This was for their annual tennis club dinner dance.

I performed for approximately 3 hours first performing close up magic during the drinks reception. This was a very casual and informal period to perform and it allowed me time to get to know people as I mix and mingles with them performing some of my simpler routines that can be performed standing. I love an opportunity like this before I move onto the main part of my close up magic show as it gives me a chance to know who will be the best people to work with later. As soon as people were seated for dinner I joined them and started working the tables. Their were 8 tables in all which allowed me about 10 minutes at each table, stopping whilst food was served. At each table I would start with a routine that included everyone at the table, I would then move onto some more in depth mind reading, getting people to think of names of old friends and then describing the person and naming them, and asking people to draw pictures and reproducing them. I ended the evening with a routine for the entire audience to watch using the club captains which went down a treat.
