Wedding magician Guildford

On Friday afternoon I was hired to perform at a wedding at Loseley Park in Guidford. I was hired to perform during the drinks reception as guests arrived at the venue prior to the wedding breakfast. This is generally my preferred time to perform at a wedding, it’s usually a quiet time for many of the guests who aren’t involved in the photos with many standing around with nothing to do but drink for a couple of hours. Despite it being the middle of July it was pouring with rain so unfortunately it couldn’t take place in the stunning gardens at the venue, instead it took place in the equally stunning house. This was a rare wedding that was running on time, the guests arrived at the venue at 2.30, I always like to give people five minutes to get into the venue, greet one another and get drinks in hand. As soon as everyone was settled I got started. For an event of this nature I like to keep things casual, mixing and mingling with the guests performing for small groups at a time, whether seated or standing. Here’s one of the more simple routines I may perform. When I first join a group I like to have a bit of a warm up to get an idea how people think. I might write something down, ask someone to name a playing card, the card they name will be the same as I have written down. I will then move into mind reading. I might ask someone to think of an old friend, I will then describe and name this friend! The bride and groom were off having photos for the first hour and a half, when they returned I performed for them. I decided to perform a special routine for them, something I can only ever perform the once which demonstrates the love between two people and how they can read each other minds. It was met with gasps from all those who had gathered around to watch. I used this as a finale and a really memorable way to end a performance. It was a really fun afternoon and I was very pleased to receive another booking at the same venue form one of the organisers, always my favourite type of compliment.
